Lady Mauve began over 14 years ago as a personal passion project By Australian expat Melissah Russo, born from a desire to create jewellery that was both unique and deeply personal, pieces I simply couldn’t find anywhere else. What started as an individual creative pursuit has grown organically into a trusted, community-driven brand that resonates with women who value individuality, confidence, and a touch of edge and elegance in their everyday style.

Our jewellery is designed to be lived in. Using a premium blend of 14k and 18k gold, every piece is durable, tarnish-resistant, and made to retain its beauty over time. This commitment to quality took years to refine, and we now work exclusively with manufacturing partners who share our high standards for craftsmanship and detail.

Stylistically, Lady Mauve is a fusion of vintage elegance, bohemian freedom, and timeless polish. Our collections play with texture, layering, pearls, bold statement pieces, and intricate beading, always wearable, always personal. Each design feels like a glimpse into my own jewellery box: expressive, intimate, and versatile.

We’ve grown primarily through word-of-mouth, and today we reach our community through multiple touchpoints: online platforms, in-person events and pop-ups, curated retail spaces such as Namshi, and our showroom and studio in Al Barsha 1.

The Woman behind

Australian expat Melissah Russo, known affectionately as Mel to her friends and clients, has called Dubai home for 19 years. Building her life in the UAE, she has remained deeply connected to her roots. Creativity has always been woven into her story her parents were part of the post-punk era of the 1970s, and she grew up listening to her father’s punk band, La Femme.

Dance, sewing, and costume-making also filled her early years. By the age of nine, she had already mastered the art of sequinning, working alongside her mother to bring performance outfits to life. Creativity wasn’t just a hobby; it was part of her DNA.

Much of her inspiration also came from time spent with her grandmother and great aunt, who both possessed remarkable vintage fashion collections. Their homes were treasure troves of period pieces, where playing dress-up meant slipping into garments and jewellery from eras past. This exposure to artistry, craftsmanship, and timeless style sparked a lifelong fascination.

Today, that passion has evolved into a career as a self-taught jewellery designer and curator. Her work is defined by authenticity, artisanal design, and uncompromising quality. With a sharp eye for emerging trends and innovative materials, she has built a signature jewellery brand that feels both personal and eclectic, rooted in inclusivity and empowerment.
