Lady Mauve is a jewellery label founded in 2011 in Dubai by Melissah Russo, a self-taught jewellery designer, and curator. Since its inception, Lady Mauve has always pursued individualism and authenticity by creating unique and edgy pieces that incorporate vintage and modern bohemian elements, astrology references, punk, hip-hop, and graffiti inspiration.

Lady Mauve jewellery is defined by this passion for fine craftsmanship, designs & individuality, and the absolute infatuation with using top-of-the-line materials.

The Woman behind

Melissah Russo, or Mel to her friends and clients, is an Australian ex-pat living in Dubai. Though she has lived in the UAE for 16 years, she remains true to her roots. At a young age, Mel has always been surrounded by creatives. Her parents were part of the post-punk era of the 1970s, and she grew up listening to her dad's punk band, La Femme.

Mel also danced when she was younger, and she and her mum would sew costumes from scratch for her performances. At nine years old, she already knew how to sequin. Creating has always been at her core.

Mel also spent a lot of time with her grandma and great aunt, who had some of the most beautiful vintage fashion collections. She always loved visiting their houses, exploring the emporium of period pieces, playing dress-up, and trying on clothes and jewellery from different eras.

Melissah is a self-taught jewellery designer and curator keen on unique, authentic, artisanal designs, making quality the utmost priority. Always scoping and keeping up with trends in design and innovative materials with the highest quality, taking the lead from renowned artisans and manufacturers worldwide. She has created a perfect synergy with a particular focus on all these essential elements turning it into a thriving, eclectic, signature jewellery brand that is personal, engaging, and, most importantly, inclusive and empowering.

This rich influence has culminated in the tastemaker Mel is known today.
